Hi there dear one,
How are you? I wish you and I could just sit on the couch. I would bring the coffee and tea and we don’t have to do much of anything. Just sit and talk. After all, there’s a lot to talk about.
Some of the most precious moments and milestones in life were robbed from us. We lost loved ones and were left alone in the intensity of sadness. There won’t be a chance to hold hands or wrap ourselves in each other’s arms as we say goodbye to those we knew. Graduations and celebrations won’t be rescheduled. Caps won’t be tossed in the air nor music won’t be played while new couples galivant down the aisle.
Sadness settles on our chests like a welcomed friend, but really, our hearts cry out for a friend.
Because we need each other. We aren’t meant to do life alone. While there has been great loss, this season opens a beautiful heart that let down its guard to sing in the streets and press its face against the window to say hello. In winnowing away the activity, the world grew into a place where people check in on each other just to make sure we are ok. Because others see the need of those crying for help, knowing we all need tender love and care.
It took us being alone, even if only for a few moments, to realize we don’t need all the doing. We just need to be together.
As we start turning the corner on COVID-19, I hope you still feel that openness of heart pulsing love, tenderness and compassion as we gather again.
All the best,
